Three Temple and Flower Puzzle:

There are three temples,u have to offer flowers in all the three temples,condition is that a pond is there in front of all the three temples in before entering to temple you have to wash the flowers in the pond,when you wash the flowers they will become double,you can purchase the flower only once,and u have to offer equal numbers of flowers in all the three temples and finally you should have no flower remaining with you, question is how many flowers will you purchase???

solution:

Consider U purchase X amount of flowers from shop.

Each Temple has pond infront of it. Before U enter the temple u have to wash the so that flowers will double.

Step1 :   After washing flowers in pond1 : flowers number increases that is 2X.

out of 2X flowers let us assume u will give Y amount of flowers to Temple1 , so remaining flowers are 2X-Y.

step 2: After washing flowers in pond2 : flowers number increases that is 2*(2X-Y)= 4X-2Y.

out of 4X-2Y flowers ,u will give Y amount of flowers to Temple2 , so remaining flowers are 4X-3Y.

step 3: After washing flowers in pond3: flowers number increases that is 2*(4X-3Y)= 8X-6Y.

out of 8X-6Y flowers ,u will give Y amount of flowers to Temple3 , so remaining flowers are 8X-7Y.

So the condition is u should have no flowers remaining with u,

hence  8X-7Y=0

8X=7Y

so the answer is   Y = 8X/7

consider u will purchase 7 flowers that is X=8  then number of flowers given to temple is Y= 8

similarly consider u will purchase 14 flowers that is X=14  then number of flowers given to temple is Y=16

Hence u can purchase the flowers in the multilple of 7 , and give the flowers to temple in multiple of 8.
